Mock up stop frame animation

This is a mock up stop frame animation I created to show how i want my final piece to go.

Shadow puppets

I like the humour used and the simplicity of shadow puppets.
It does give the audience the full picture in colour but obvious objects can be identified very easily.

(Think of using some sort of shadow show type of intro)

Other foughts

Think about using show puppets...
Stock frame animation will probably work best with the revealing diferrent objects.
I want to give the idea that its not polished .. .is abit obvious that its certain things..

First ideas

My first ideas are:

one:
a pair of hands tears down the culture show poster and scrunchs it up.. and as he/she opens their hands it reveal different things.. such as the gherkin = architecture and music notes = music etc.
At the end of the sequence the hands reveal a paint brush and flick paint on the screen making up the title 'The Culture Show'.

two:
the camera moves from box to box, in which there is different stuff happening such as a band playin a gig in a closed area... the camera moves off and the band try to get the camera to stay on them. It them moves to another block which is a cinema settin, someone then turns to the camera and shhhh it. The camera then moves up to a different scene. and so on and so on.. etc.

Other shows and how they have animated

I like to way that 'The South Bank show' has used it type of animation to create its different intros.
The one that stands out the most is the one that runs through different theatre scenes, with hand puppets, Captain pugwash style drawingsin and animations and music. It def cover gives the ora of the show and captures everything the show is about.



I like the use of the puppet style images used in the show 'Captain Pugwash'. The use of the same drawing, with moving arms and legs saves alot of time and is very effective.

looking at modern music videos

Very good use camera angles and camera manipulation to make objects look smaller then they actually are.


Very good use of stop frame animation to create a longg and very complex video.


This is very effective use of real life with animation put over the top.
